DiploHack Tirana: A Voice for Civil Society

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Albania and the Albanian Institute of Science will host a #DiploHack on ‘A Voice for Civil Society - Using Open Data to Strengthen Civil Society Advocacy’. We are inviting civil society representatives, journalists, programmers, diplomats and social entrepreneurs to join us for this exciting event.

Small teams comprised of a civil society representative, a diplomat and a programmer, will work together for 24 hours to find creative ways to make open data work for civil society. The team with the best idea will win the DiploHack Tirana Award.

The Netherlands holds the Presidency of the EU in the first half of 2016. The Netherlands wants to create more dialogue between citizens and governments within the EU. Transparency and Open Data play an important role in a meaningful public debate.

To participate, please send an email with a short motivation (appr. 100 words) to before January 25th.

Timetable:
29 January: 17-18:30 DiploHack: Introducing The Challenge
30 January: 10-18:00 DiploHack
30 January: 19-22:00 DiploHack Tirana Award Ceremony
