Diplohack Tallin 6-8th December 2013
#DiploHack Tallinn (6-7-8 December 2013) from Giampietro Balia on Vimeo.
#DiploHack combines the specific know-how and skill sets of diplomats, tech developers and designers, along with that of journalists, academics, NGOs, businesses and social entrepreneurs to ‘hack’ traditional diplomatic problems in start-up style groups.
#DiploHack Tallinn was organized within the framework of the International Human Rights Day to increase awareness of the topic of Internet Freedom, bringing together professionals from different fields and to find tech solutions to challenges related to internet freedom.
Topics of the event were, among others: surveillance, privacy, transparency, content removal, protection of journalists, internet governance, open data and net neutrality.
The event in Tallinn was hosted by the Netherlands Embassy in Estonia, in collaboration with Garage48 and the Institute of Digital Rights. Also, great support is offered by the Swedish Embassy in Estonia.
