Working to deadlines in small groups/teams, using set frameworks and principles and given tools, the participants will work together to produce concrete, feasible solutions for the digital diplomacy of the future. Examples could include an international meeting, a Twitter-based campaign, or a documentary film relay. These concrete proposals should, in principle, be implementable after SIDD, preferably involving several states.

DiploHack Part I: Diplomacy and the culture of digital participation
Led by Interactive Institute Swedish ICT

What are the implications for future diplomacy of the growing culture of digital participation, where everybody can be their own diplomat? How can diplomats influence people directly in their work? What are the implications for the traditional status of diplomacy as an exercise for the few, shrouded in secrecy? What new approaches do diplomats need to adopt when acting in a
transnational, open arena?

17.00-17.45 Sharing of outcome from DiploHack part I, in presence of Foreign Minister Carl Bildt

17.30 TEDxStockholmSalon – The new diplomacy
#SIDD-participants join after the sharing session – the TEDx
